BENIN CITY – The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has trained and deployed more than 3,000 new teachers under the Edo Supporting Teachers to Achieve Results (EdoSTAR) scholarship program in teaching schools state base.

Salami noted that to mark the conclusion of these trainings and the start of the EdoBEST methodology of teaching in 379 new schools across the state, a graduation ceremony is scheduled for Friday, March 11, 2022, adding that the ceremony will be officially launch the implementation of the disarticulation of junior high schools in the state.
The boss of SUBEB said, “The Edo State Universal Education Board has, over the past six weeks, trained 2,650 teachers, including progressive primary school teachers, junior high school teachers Secondary School (JSS) and successful applicants for the EdoSTAR Scholarship.
“This training represents a further step in the basic education sector reform program initiated by this administration in 2018, as 231 junior high schools, 148 rural, hard-to-reach and riverine primary schools are now added to the EdoBEST program.
“In addition, 3,000 new teachers have been deployed to all our basic education schools in the 18 local government areas under the EdoSTAR scholarship program. (1,200 of these fellows were part of the training that just ended).
She further added, “To mark the conclusion of these trainings and the start of the EdoBEST methodology of teaching in 379 new schools across the state, a graduation ceremony was approved by His Excellency, the Executive Governor , Mr. Godwin Obaseki. at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Tennis Hard Court, Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
“This ceremony will officially declare the start of the disarticulation of the JSS in Edo State.”
