Minnesota gold medalist Suni Lee to hit the dance floor in DWTS
Thursday August 26 Lee revealed on Twitter that she would join ABC Dancing with the stars 30th season to come.
“Hi guys! My name is Suni Lee and I am an Olympic gold medalist,” she presented in a 7-second video. “I’m so excited to join Season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. See you on the dance floor!”
Lee was one of two celebrities announced Thursday for the next season of DWTS; Youtube personality JoJo Siwa has also been announced. The remaining 13 celebrities will be revealed on Wednesday, September 8. Lee joins a group of other notable American gymnasts to compete on the DWTS dance floor, including Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Shawn Johnson, Mary Lou Retton, Laurie Hernandez and Nastia Liukin.
Suni Lee was recently given a hero’s welcome in Minnesota after winning a gold medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Women’s All-Around Competition, a Silver Medal in the Women’s Team Competition and a Bronze Medal for her performance on uneven bars. With the Olympic platform behind her, Lee’s next challenge is college. She has just started her first year at Auburn University where she plans to study the principles and concepts of marketing.
