Ithmaar BSC: the bank opens a new digital-focused branch in Arad
MANAMA, BAHRAIN – November 21, 2021 – Ithmaar Bank, a Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank that owns and operates the Kingdom’s largest Islamic retail banking network, launched today (Editor’s note: 11/21/21 ) a new branch in Arad.
This is the second full-service, digitally-focused branch to be inaugurated by Ithmaar Bank in the past two months, and underlines the Bank’s continued commitment to improve its Islamic banking offering and move closer to its clients. The new branches – the new main branch of Seef shopping center and the new branch in Arad – are both equipped with sophisticated cutting-edge technology, including sophisticated ATMs, next-generation automated teller machines (ABMs) and ” other new automation and customer service solutions.
The new Ithmaar Bank Arad branch, located next to the Muharraq Club petrol station, effectively moves the old bank branch nearby to a better and more accessible location with ample parking for customers.
The new Arad branch was inaugurated by the Managing Director of Ithmaar Bank, Ahmed Abdul Rahim, in the presence of the Deputy Managing Director, Abdul Hakeem Al Mutawa, the Managing Director – Retail Banking Group, Mohammed Janahi, and the Managing Director – Information Technology and Banking Operations, Yusuf Alkhan, in addition to a number of Bank officials and branch customers.
Arad’s new branch is the latest demonstration of Ithmaar Bank’s digital transformation and includes the provision of next-generation ATMs and other new digital solutions – especially the self-service banking machine that automates various services, including instant printing of account statements and certificates, updating customer information and instant printing of card statements. In December, the machine will also offer additional services, including instant issuance of debit cards and electronic cards.

In October, Ithmaar Bank inaugurated its new main branch in Seef Mall, effectively moving its main branch from Seef Tower to nearby Seef Mall. The new main branch, located near Gate No.10, has been designed with a new look and advanced technologies to provide an enhanced banking experience for customers. In June of last year, Ithmaar Bank announced the opening of a new branch in the city of Hamad, where the Hamala branch has been moved to a new, better and more accessible location with more parking spaces. Ithmaar Bank’s branch network currently consists of 13 branches and 38 ATMs located in strategic locations throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
