Hunter confesses to shooting cleric, says he was aiming for antelope
The suspect shot dead Adegun, who until his death was the chief imam of Alaguntan village in Osun state.
After his arrest, Sulaimon said he was on a hunting expedition and pointed his Danish pistol at an antelope, which surprisingly transformed into a human after firing.
“The suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime, that he was on a hunting expedition when he saw an antelope in the bush which he shot with his Danish pistol.
“He said he was surprised when he went to look for the antelope, and he met Baba Imam on the ground. The suspect will be brought to justice after the investigation,” the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Osun State, Yemisi Opalola declared.
In other news, Dogoh Promisea 23-year-old from Kamnor community in Khana local government area, was arrested.
Dogoh, according to the Rivers State Police Command, is a fraudster who specializes in exchanging ATM cards and stealing money from bank accounts.
Luck ran out on Dogoh when he swapped a victim’s card and withdrew N640,000 which turned out to be all the money in the account.
The victim then reported him to the police, after which he was arrested.
Unveiling the arrest of Dogoh, Rivers Police Commissioner, Eboka Friday advised members of the public to be wary of strangers in ATM galleries and to refrain from asking them for help.
