APC lives on another planet or requires psychiatric evaluation over Obaseki’s stance on party fate – Nigerian Observer
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its minions live on another planet or require psychiatric evaluation for their attempt to criticize Governor Godwin Obaseki’s factual and honest assessment of the state of the nation and the appalling fate that awaits Nigerians if the party somehow find their way to the Aso Rock Villa in 2023.
The party’s mercenary gang, including a former human rights activist, continue to pollute the public space with their crude and obnoxious takes on the governor’s comment while failing to properly read the room to know that the governor said the majority spirit of Nigerians who have been impoverished over the past 7 years by the disastrous mismanagement of the APC.
What part of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s wake-up call are the APC and its underlings questioning? Are Nigerians not victims of the disastrous management of the country’s affairs by the party, which has today made the country the poverty capital of the world, with a disjointed economy, an atrocious debt burden and an unhappy population weaving its way through precarious communities, a dilapidated road network, among other flaws.
When in April 2021 Governor Obaseki sounded the alarm that the federal government was printing money to run the economy and warned that if such practices continued the naira would head towards 1000 naira to the dollar against the rate of 500 naira to 1 dollar at that time, APC and their lackeys cried blue murder, playing ostrich and denying the obvious. But today, what does 1 dollar exchange against the naira? Isn’t N800 at $1 equivalent to the warning the governor issued about a year ago?
The inflation rate is at an all-time high and the price of staples such as rice, which sold for around 8,000 naira for a 50kg bag during the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) era, now fluctuates today between 40,000 and 45,000 naira for the same quantity. , and is beyond the reach of the poor masses of the country.
The inability of the APC to guarantee oil production has thrown the country’s finances into dire straits. Under the APC-led government, Nigeria has been unable to sell crude oil in the international market due to its inability to curb crude oil theft. The country is now virtually absent from the international oil market due to the party’s mismanagement of Nigeria’s oil assets.
Nigerians can no longer travel from Benin to Lagos, Kaduna to Abuja, Benue to Borno or Abuja to Niger due to the state of insecurity in the country, which the APC has raised to unprecedented levels .
Under the supervision of the APC, bandits chased Nigerians from their farms and from the roads. When Nigerians sought solace in train journeys, the bandits also besieged the Abuja-Kaduna line and held hundreds of innocent Nigerians hostage and at the mercy of terrorists who killed many in their ferocious attack on the train. The party has failed in its fundamental role of protecting Nigerians, who have all now resorted to weak mutual aid to protect their families and what remains of their belongings.
We know that the Minister of State for Labor and Productivity, Festus Keyamo, spent too much time at the table with the then APC government, feasting and fattening. He is now totally deaf to the plight of the people, whom he once claimed to defend as a human rights activist. We want to remind him that not everyone was stunned by largesse like he was.
We want to state unequivocally in full support of His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki, that Nigerians must by all means necessary prevent the APC on the ballot from going to Aso Rock to prevent the unfortunate from descending into a state failing.
